I
am now 36 years old and I was born in Stockholm (Huddinge)
on the 22nd of June 1971. My first few years, as I was
told, were spent in a tiny appartment with my mom, my dad,
and my sister in a Stockholm suburb called Stuvsta.
I don't rememember that perioid of course, but I do
remember that other place we moved to in the Stockholm
area after the Stuvsta stint, Norsborg (Hallunda), were I
grew up from tiny baby to little boy!
There I met my first "pal" Robin! We were super tight and
played cowboys and Indians every day as I recall. Later we
moved to Gothenburg, my dad landed a completely different
job than he had had previously (he was a plumber) but
switched rather dramatically to something else! Airport
worker at Landvetter Airport (close to Gothenburg)! A gig
that he had until he retired.
My mom who had worked at "IKEA" in Stockholm, also swiched
career and found herself a new employment.
All our ties with the Capital of Sweden were thereby cut,
signed, sealed, and put firmly behind us! For me it wasn't any
problem what so ever to settle in on the Swedish west
coast
I fell in love with Gothenburg immediately, found a large
group of friends almost instantly and got myself a cute
little
Gothenburg accent in no time! The Swedish West Coast have,
naturally been my headquarters ever since!
My Stockholm roots have made me a keen Hammarby Supporter
though (the football section). That's the only thing
linking me to Stockholm nowadays!
For some reason I started playing minor leauge soccer for
the club Gunnilse IS as a 7 year old boy and did that,
believe it or not, on and off for 5 years, until I
realized that, chasing a leather ball for 45 minutes
straight, wasn't my cup of tea! What position you ask!
Naturally i was a striker!
With the boxing blood running in my family's geens though,
my second choice of sport was easy (Boxing), Swapping leather in a
violent manner appealed a lot more to me than football, no
doubt! It sounds crazy I know! Call me a weirdo if you
like but crashing a straight right cross into an opponents
face is...well, kind of cool if you ask me!
My boxing
career spanned over 5 years and I compiled a record of 32
wins and 17 defeats. Had my best years in 1987-1988 when I
belonged to the national junior elite.
I grew up in Angered, a now pretty worn down suburb
located on the east northern parts of Gothenburg.
Not very patient with education I dropped out of
high-school (Angereds Gymnasiet) after approximately one
year, to concentrate on my boxing career, which was ended
prior to my military service in early 1990.
I now live in a 3 room appartment with my girlfriend
Pamilla, a dog and a cat. My biggest interest in life
beside my spouse, is boxing, running and going to the
movies.
Except for Pamilla I have a pretty large
group of family/relatives; dad Gillis, mom Sonya above
mentioned sister Camilla, her husband Janne their two
lovely children, Alice and William, Pamillas two brothers,
Chris and Robbie, mother In-law Laila and father In-law
Ingemar. Those are the people I see the most of course. |
