Linköping |
|
I know Linköping isn’t much to brag about but as we
had a fairly good time there and drove all the way
from Gothenburg in our car to get there, I still
think it’s worth mentioning in our “trips”. We
stayed at a nice hotel, saw my musical favorite,
Lars Winnerbäck perform live at the newly opened
“Hockey-arena” Cloetta Center, in fact he opened the
whole place with his gig. Pamilla lost a tooth, or
actually bit it off while eating candy during the
concert. That bit wasn’t very nice but everything
else was. I loved it and my baby fixed that tooth
when she got home. |

Glasgow |

“If it isn’t Scottish it’s crap Mike Myers yelled out
in a classic comical sketch in “Saturday night live”
a few year back, and I am bound to agree. Scotland
is way nicer than its reputation. Pamilla and I had
a wonderful time staying at the “Campanile Hotel”
which was excellent by the way, catching a concert
with Irish performer Brian McFadden at the Clyde
Auditorium (also known in folks mouth as “The
Armadillo” ), and visiting the local Cinemas. We saw
two movies, one really good, the other so awful it
was almost as we wanted the ticket fee in return. |

Newcastle upon
Tyne |
|
We had another trip (by boat) to our favourite
little English city in 2006, and it sure wasn’t any
less entertaining this time around. In fact it was
more giving actually as we got, for the very first
time, the taste of “Whitley Bay”, a wonderful
seaside resort just at the outskirts of Newcastle,
kilometres & kilometres of beautiful sandy beaches
along the coastline, explicitly unique in several
ways, and, as said, breathtakingly beautiful. We
stayed at the luxurious “Jury’s Inn “which
definitely was a “step up” compared to “Quality
Hotel” where we stayed at on our first visit to
Newcastle. We also crossed the bridge over to
Gateshead (which was fun), and again caught a flick
at the impressive “Gate” Movie & entertainment
complex. What we saw? “Failure to Launch” with
Matthew McConaughey, a very nice movie. |

Glasgow |
|
Glasgow again, second time around, this time we
stayed at a hotel pretty close to the Central
Station. We shopped, wandered the streets and caught
a mini-act by the McDonald Brothers at the local
Virgin Record store. They sang a couple of songs and
we got pictures of the whole thing. Westlife
performed at The SECC (Scottish Exhibition &
Conference Centre) arena and we had topnotch seats
as always. A quick trip (by bus) to Edinburgh was
also fitted in to our busy schedule. Beautiful
castles! Lots of Candy, (fudge) and Scottish
specialties (as we see it), such as Kentucky Fried
Chicken, was digested, along with sugary beverages
of all sorts. A nice trip
although, I probably gained a few kilos on the way.
Pamilla escaped that though, looking good as always,
no matter what goes through her system, she is
always fit. A mystery! |
